Leeds Castle Guide
Welcome to our guide for Leeds Castle
Rising from its own moat amid 500 acres of parkland, Leeds Castle near Maidstone is one of Kent’s most spectacular and romantic attractions.
Known worldwide as “The Loveliest Castle in the World,” it combines more than 900 years of royal history with gardens, wildlife and year-round family adventures.
Founded in 1119, it became home to six medieval queens, a palace for Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon, and later a glamorous 1930s retreat for Lady Baillie, who entertained royalty and Hollywood stars. Today, the Leeds Castle Foundation preserves its heritage and welcomes visitors to explore the castle, grounds and events through every season.
