Folkestone Harbour Arm

Welcome to our guide for Folkestone’s Harbour Arm

Folkestone Harbour Arm has transformed from a working port into one of Kent’s most vibrant coastal destinations. Once a ferry terminal, it’s now a creative hub lined with independent food stalls, bars, pop-ups, and live entertainment - all set against sweeping views of the Channel.

From sipping cocktails in repurposed railway carriages to browsing weekend markets and watching the sun set behind the cliffs, the Harbour Arm is a must-visit attraction in Folkestone. Whether you’re visiting for a weekend break, a seaside stroll, or one of the seasonal events, there’s always something happening at this iconic waterfront landmark.

About the Harbour Arm

Once the gateway for cross-Channel ferries, Folkestone Harbour Arm has been reimagined as one of Kent’s most distinctive seaside attractions. Blending industrial heritage with a creative, independent spirit, it’s now home to an eclectic mix of street food traders, pop-up bars, live music venues, and art installations, all set against panoramic views of the English Channel.

The arm itself stretches out from the restored Harbour Viaduct, which connects the town centre to the waterfront via the Harbour Station walkway - a beautifully preserved piece of railway history. Visitors can stroll along the boardwalk, admire the old lighthouse, and watch fishing boats come and go while enjoying everything from oysters and craft beer to wood-fired pizza and sunset cocktails.

Open throughout the year, the Harbour Arm is also the focal point for many of Folkestone’s seasonal events, including outdoor cinema nights, food festivals, and the popular Folkestone Festive Market. Whether you’re visiting for a leisurely weekend, a seaside evening out, or a day trip from London, it’s an unmissable stop on the Kent coast that perfectly captures the town’s creative and coastal energy.
