Walking the Bewl Water Trail

Walking is one of the best ways to experience the tranquillity of Bewl Water. The 12½-mile route follows the edge of the reservoir, passing through a mix of shady woodland, open fields, and gentle hills with sweeping views of the Weald.

For those who prefer a shorter stroll, there are optional shorter loops starting from Wadhurst, Ticehurst, and Wadhurst Station — ideal for half-day adventures.

Bewl Water is a dog-friendly destination and a true paradise for four-legged walkers. With miles of open trails and new scents to explore, it’s perfect for year-round walks.
